Following last year’s debut at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel, the Extravaganza Latin Carnival returned—and this time, it scaled up massively. Moving down the road to Zone D of the Central Harbourfront Event Space (CHES), the festival expanded into a much larger playground to celebrate the vibrant richness of Latino culture.
The growth was a staggering success, drawing over 10,000 visitors across the two days, with locals and tourists alike joining the massive fiesta. Alongside the classic Caipirinhas, the drinks flowed with a wider menu of Latin cocktails, complemented by more than 10 food vendors serving up authentic Latino street food. With a perfectly sunny weekend and zero rain hassle, the atmosphere was unmatched.
The Challenge
A bigger venue meant a much bigger structural and production checklist for our team. We deployed an array of infrastructure, including two of our signature stretch tents, our standout "Round Cube" structure, and several custom feature installations—including a massive feather display, a fully interactive LED dancefloor, and an immersive lighting tunnel.
Naturally, scaling up also meant facing a mountain of government scrutiny. Navigating the strict licensing requirements for an event of this size required immense attention to detail. Luckily, CHES is practically our second home, and our close relationship with the Central Venues Management (CVM) team made the process seamless.
The Result
This edition was bittersweet, as it likely marks our final collaboration with CVM at CHES before their leasing contract expires. It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside them over the years to bring some of HK's best events to life.
That said, the show must go on! We are incredibly proud of how our team executed this scaled-up challenge, and we are already buzzing to bring this electric Latin atmosphere back to Central next year with the new CHES landlord.
